How does J-School work?
J-School trainings are released in weekly modules with easy-to-follow videos, done-for-you templates, resource lists, and Fun Sheets. All of the training is online inside a private, J‑School member-only site. Students can view the training videos, connect with others, and compare notes with classmates.
J‑School also includes interactive components like “Office Hours” where Jackie answers questions and offers strategic advice to ensure that our members take consistent action and receive the highest value from their investment.
Plus, you’re a J‑Schooler for life. You can retake the program for free each year, for as long as the program exists.
Who is the program for?
This program is designed for actors who want to:

As the adage goes, give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for a lifetime. That’s why our primary goal is to train you to think, behave and make smart decisions — so you have skills that serve you for life.
J-School is for doers and change-makers who want to use their gifts to become a professional and paid actor.

Based on my top-selling workshop as a casting director, I created a one-of-a-kind online course to help actors learn exactly what it takes to win the role in a film and television audition. I’ll take you step-by-step through the casting process.
Here’s our exact curriculum so you can make sure the program is right for you.
Module 1 – Tools you need to win an audition
Competition is huge in this business – this module will give you the edge over other actors.
Every remarkable actor starts somewhere. In this module, you’ll understand:
- all the tools you need as an actor
- how the right tools can help you get an audition
- how the wrong tools can stop you from getting an audition
- what you can do to set yourself apart from the competition, regardless if you have an agent or not
- the nitty-gritty details of the following (from the most important perspective: the casting director) and ways they can get you – and also stop you from getting – an audition:
- Demo Reels
- Resources that you need to get into LA
We will also help you understand that acting is a business, and what you can do to look like a pro even if you’re just starting. By the end of this module, you will have a rock-solid foundation of what it takes to get an audition.
Module 2 – The audition process
Auditions aren’t optional for actors.
In this module, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the audition process, including:
- audition techniques that will make casting directors remember you
- on-camera techniques to show that you’re a pro even if you’re just starting out
- essential knowledge into the competitive world of auditioning from a casting director’s perspective
- easy to follow video clips that take you through the entire process, from preparation to the audition
- what you should always do during an audition
- what you should never do during an audition (so many actors make these mistakes and lose opportunities!)
- what to wear and what not to wear during an audition
- recovering from mistakes
- audition etiquette
- audition lingo
- the different types of auditions
- how to communicate with casting directors
No matter what your skill level is, by the end of this module, you’ll understand how to audition like a pro, book more jobs and make a fan of casting directors.
Module 3 – How to self-tape
If you live outside of LA and you want the opportunity to audition for the big screen, you’ll need to understand how to make the best self-tapes. Most of the time, you’ll need to record yourself if there aren’t any services in your area. Sometimes, LA casting directors will want your tape overnight so you’re going to have to self-tape, therefore, every actor needs to know how to self-tape so you don’t lose opportunities.
In this module, you will develop the skills to:
- make the best possible self-tape so that you’re very competitive in the market
- make a self-tape that will stand out
- never make the mistakes that so many actors make when self-taping, therefore losing the opportunity to get the role
You will also have the opportunity to get feedback about your self-tape directly from Jackie that will give you the confidence for life.
Module 4 – How to get a talent agent & how to work with an agent to get auditions
Agents are the lifeblood of any sustainable acting career. Sadly, too many actors have a negative association with agents and get overwhelmed by the opinions of their fellow actor friends. In this module, you will understand what agents are looking for when signing actors, you will learn how to get an agent and how to have a successful relationship with your agent so that you’re the first on their priority list for relevant roles. Once you understand this process, it doesn’t matter how the industry will change – you’ll thrive.
In this crucial module you’ll learn:
- the difference between a talent manager, talent agent and a modelling agency
- how to find agents
- what to look for in an agent
- how to pitch to agents
- what questions to ask agents during interviews
- what to look out for in talent agency contracts
- how to communicate effectively with your agent
- how to set up a successful relationship with your agent
- how to work with your agent to get more auditions
- what really happens behind the scenes of a talent agency
- why agency-loyalty is so important for your career

About the Founder
Oh hello, I’m Jacqueline Olivier aka Jackie O! I have more than 15 years of experience in the casting world!
Here’s the kiddie scoop:
At 21 years of age, I started as a Casting Director and cast for projects like The Reckoning, Mountains May Depart and many TV commercials like RAC, LotteryWest, Snap Print, Office of Road Safety, Doritos and more.
At 27 years of age, I travelled to LA to meet with 70 agents and managers, meetings I had set up on my own. These meetings inspired me to start my talent agency, Monumental Management. I represented a wide variety of actors around Australia, LA, and the UK. I successfully gained roles for my actors including the following productions:
- Top of the Lake
- A Few Less Men
- Looking for Grace
- Bad Girl
- And many TV commercials such as RAC, Lotterywest, HBF, Thermomix, Tourism Australia, etc.
I also obtained the following auditions, such as:
- Crazy Rich Asians
- Game of Thrones
- Ash v Evil Dead
- Tomorrow when the War Began
- Steve Jobs
- Home and Away
- Don’t Mess with Texas
- And many more!
Having worked 15 years non-stop with no annual leave (because when you own a business you can never really take a holiday-holiday), I decided to dissolve the talent agency and take a well-deserved rest!
I’m back and have relaunched. My business creates opportunities for Australian actors in Los Angeles. Since I have all the connections and direct access to casting notices, I’m working with Australian actors to make it on the big screen. I’m a no-fuss and straight-to-the-point kind of talent agent. I know what it takes to for actors to make it as I’ve worked as a Casting Director. Don’t learn the hard way, my course is made for actors who want to take their career to the next level without all the speed bumps.
